Barcelona's network of study rooms has announced extended operating hours to facilitate preparation for the final exams of the 2025-2026 academic year and the 2026 Selectivitat, scheduled for June 9, 10, and 11.

The ten permanent study rooms, which operate year-round, will extend their service during the weekend prior to the university entrance exams. This measure aims to provide students with more spaces and time for their revision.
For better organization, the Barcelona City Council provides an interactive map where students can check the real-time occupancy of each room, as well as detailed schedules and addresses. This tool is particularly useful to avoid unnecessary travel, as some rooms close in the evening while others remain open until 11 PM or later.
It is important to note that, starting from May 26, an indefinite strike has been called in libraries, which could affect the availability of these facilities. Most study rooms are located in municipal libraries, although some are also found in youth facilities, such as the room set up at the Centre d'Informació i Assessorament per a Joves (CIAJ) in Raval.
The usual operating hours for the rooms are Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 PM to 12 AM, with the exception of the rooms in Ciutat Vella and Sant Martí, which open from 8 PM to 11:30 PM. Some rooms also open on Sundays, such as the Sala Vapor Vell in Sants-Montjuïc and the Esquerra de l'Eixample – Agustí Centelles.
Special hours are set for the weekend of June 6 and 7. On Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, from 10 AM to 2 PM and from 4 PM to 12 AM, the rooms at Biblioteca Esquerra de l'Eixample – Agustí Centelles, Biblioteca Vapor Vell, Biblioteca Ignasi Iglésias – Can Fabra, and the Centre d'Informació i Assessorament de Joves de Barcelona will be open. Other rooms, such as Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló, Sala d'estudi Sarrià – Sant Gervasi – Joan Maragall, Biblioteca Vila de Gràcia – Rosa M. Arquimbau, Biblioteca Guinardó – Mercè Rodoreda, and Biblioteca Nou Barris – Aurora Díaz Plaja, will have similar schedules, with Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló opening until 12 AM on Sunday, June 7.
It should be noted that the room at Biblioteca Vila de Gràcia – Rosa M. Arquimbau is temporary, available from May 11 to June 26, due to the closure for renovations of the usual room at Biblioteca Jaume Fuster. In addition to municipal study rooms, students can also use the facilities at Espais Joves and university libraries.
