The party rejects the proposal by PSC and ERC, demanding immediate urban planning actions instead of further studies.

The Barcelona en Comú party blocked on Friday the creation of a study commission at Barcelona City Council intended to analyze regulations against speculative real estate purchases in the city.

The proposal, promoted by the PSC and ERC, was rejected by the 'Comuns', who argued that the city needs brave housing policies rather than headlines. Gemma Tarafa's group urged the local government to use existing urban planning tools to limit speculation immediately.

"They are confusing desire with reality."

Other opposition parties, including Junts and PP, also distanced themselves from the commission. Junts argued that the real issue is the lack of housing supply, while the PP warned against creating committees that might infringe upon constitutional rights.
