The Mossos d'Esquadra recovered the body of a young man this Thursday at Somorrostro beach in Barcelona, likely belonging to Jimmy Gracey, the 20-year-old American student missing since Tuesday.

The discovery occurred in the early afternoon near a breakwater. Police had deployed Aquatic and Underwater Units along with Drones after a witness reported seeing the young man walking towards the sea on the night he disappeared near the city's nightlife district.
Jimmy Gracey, a third-year accounting student at the University of Alabama from Elmhurst, Illinois, was visiting friends in Europe. He was last seen around 3:00 AM at the Shoko nightclub in the Olympic Port. Security footage showed him leaving the venue accompanied by an unidentified individual.

"Jimmy is a kind, responsible, and very dedicated son and brother; it is completely out of character for him not to communicate with his family."

While official identification is pending, sources close to the investigation mentioned that the student's wallet was found floating in the water earlier today. Authorities have currently ruled out foul play, focusing on the hypothesis of an accidental drowning.
