A group of singers expelled from the papal mass at the Sagrada Familia have organized a public singing of "Els segadors" in front of the basilica to protest the incident.

Around 600 singers participating in the mass led by Pope Leo XIV at the Sagrada Familia were expelled yesterday during the ceremony. The initiative for a public singing stems from this expulsion, which some participants attribute to the presence of Catalan flags (estelades) and the intention to sing "Els segadors".
According to witnesses, the singers were removed from the final part of the mass and escorted out of the temple by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) before "El Virolai" concluded. The Sagrada Familia Foundation justified the action by stating that these activities were not part of the planned program, although the singers reported constant checks and surveillance.
After being escorted outside, many participants spontaneously sang "Els segadors" and other songs in front of a police presence, shouting "What a shame." Now, a new performance of the official Catalan national anthem has been called for in front of the basilica, open to the public.

Let's accompany the singers expelled from the Sagrada Familia to sing together the Segadors, the anthem of our country.

Organizations such as the Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) have promoted the event, scheduled for 7:00 PM at the intersection of Mallorca and Sardenya streets, calling for support for the expelled singers.
