The Girona-based company Flock Dron Art Studio, recognized for creating the figure of Gaudí with approximately 700 drones during the blessing ceremony of the Sagrada Familia's Jesus tower, has set a new goal: to surpass the European record for synchronized drone flights.
This attempt will take place at an air festival in Porto, Portugal, where the company plans to deploy 3,100 drones, exceeding by 50 the current record of 3,050 synchronized drones set at the Monaco Grand Prix in early June.
“"It's not the same to draw someone's face with 500 drones as with 3,000. The detail you can achieve is much more spectacular."
The show, custom-designed for the Air Invictus festival, will tell a story dedicated to Portugal, blending tourist elements and its aeronautical capabilities by showcasing historical aircraft.
The preparation for these flights involves using specific drones for light shows, which do not carry cameras. The process includes designing movements to avoid collisions, calculating distances, creating individual flight paths, and finally synchronizing them in a designated space.
Flock Dron Art Studio, founded in 2019, has established itself as one of the leading companies in this sector nationwide.
