The union section decided to support the protests initially called by the train drivers' union Semaf. Since they could not join the first two days of action this week, CCOO members will strike during the peak days of the global tech event to demand negotiations over labor agreements.
The mobilization schedule includes a full 24-hour strike on March 2. On March 3 and 4, partial walkouts will occur during rush hours: from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as well as an early morning shift from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
“"We cannot start negotiating a new agreement without resolving the breaches of the current one."
Key demands include filling vacant positions, respecting mandatory rest periods for drivers, and addressing maintenance issues. However, UGT, the majority union among the 2,140 employees, has declined to participate, suggesting the move is linked to upcoming internal elections.
