Production has officially started in Barcelona for the new season of Cites Barcelona, a collaboration between 3Cat and Amazon Prime Video scheduled for release in 2027.

Produced by Pau Freixas, the new installment will feature four 40-minute episodes focusing on the insecurities and hopes of modern dating. The series aims to boost its audience figures, which reached a 15.5% share in its first season before dipping to 9.7% in the second.
The cast includes renowned actors such as Emma Vilarasau, Jordi Bosch, Natalia Sánchez, and Malena Alterio. A key aspect of this new production is the prioritized use of the Catalan language, following specific agreements between the local broadcaster and Amazon.
The award-winning show will continue to explore the dynamics of people meeting through dating apps, using both iconic landmarks and everyday neighborhoods of Barcelona as the backdrop for these first encounters.
