Mayor Jaume Collboni presented on Wednesday the roadmap for the transformation of la Sagrera, a project featuring a massive green corridor and thousands of public housing units.

The city will allocate 260 million euros until 2031 to develop a 'park of parks'. This green infrastructure, built over the railway tracks, will span 36 hectares and stretch four kilometers, becoming Barcelona's largest green space, doubling the size of Ciutadella park.

"I have come today to explain that we are starting now. We want the city to be ready when the new station emerges."

Regarding housing, the plan includes 5,540 social housing units. The area is expected to welcome 25,000 new residents and create 10,000 jobs through new commercial and hotel developments.
