Barcelona Firefighters have successfully brought under control a fire that affected three merchandise containers and about twenty semi-trailers at the Port of Barcelona, specifically in the Pont d'Europa area, with no reported injuries.

The incident, which produced a significant column of black smoke visible from various points across the Catalan capital, was reported at 1:17 PM. Despite its dramatic appearance, the flames did not involve hazardous materials, as confirmed by municipal sources.
To tackle the emergency, Barcelona Firefighters deployed an extensive operation including three tanks, three water pumpers, an ambulance, an aerial ladder, two support vehicles, and two command vehicles. Additionally, the Barcelona Firefighters' boat provided assistance from the water to aid in the extinguishing efforts.
The substantial amount of smoke led to over seventy calls to the emergency number 112 in a short period, reporting the fire. Once the blaze was controlled, normal port traffic and activity resumed, except in the directly affected area, where emergency teams continue to dampen and inspect the site to ensure complete extinguishment.
