The CUP in Barcelona and Comunistes de Catalunya have formalized a political agreement to run together in the 2027 municipal elections in the city.

After weeks of negotiation, the two organizations have closed a pact to promote a "broad candidacy" in Barcelona. The objective is to incorporate new organizations, collectives, and individuals who share the need to build a "popular alternative" to transform the city.
The parties have jointly called, along with individual activists, for a Popular Municipalist Assembly on July 11. This space aims to be a forum for listening to and participating with Barcelona's social movements.
The official presentation of the candidacy is scheduled for after the summer. This event will reveal the political, social, and individual endorsements, as well as the individuals who will lead the electoral list.
