This extension includes a significant increase in the income threshold, which can now reach up to 36,279.32 euros annually, quadrupling the previous limit. Furthermore, the maximum subsidized rent has been raised to 1,000 euros per month in the Barcelona metropolitan area and 750 euros in the rest of the demarcation.
The decision follows an agreement between the Government and the Comuns, which has allowed for an increase in the budgetary allocation by 106 million euros compared to the previous call. It is estimated that this injection of funds will benefit approximately 40,000 new family units, with the primary goal of preventing situations of residential exclusion.
For specific groups such as large families, single-parent families, or those with recognized disabilities and reduced mobility, the maximum subsidized rent is further increased to 1,100 euros per month in the metropolitan area and 900 euros in the rest of the territory.
The subsidy amounts are adjusted based on each applicant's income, ranging from a minimum of 50 euros to a maximum of 200 euros per month. Caps for other demarcations such as Girona, Tarragona, Lleida, and the Terres de l'Ebre remain between 600 and 750 euros per dwelling.
Applications can be submitted electronically through the Generalitat's Procedures portal or in person at the designated points.
