The Department of Labour and the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) are set to launch a new tender for Dual Vocational Training (FPO Dual) during this first quarter of 2026.

This strategic move aims to support young people in vulnerable situations who have fallen out of traditional educational paths. The FPO Dual model combines classroom learning with real-world work experience through training contracts, providing students with professional recognition and practical skills.
A key example is the partnership between Fundació Main and the Bakers Guild of Barcelona Province. Their bakery and pastry program addresses the industry's need for skilled workers while focusing on 'soft skills' such as emotional management and teamwork, which are essential for long-term career success.

"Dual Vocational Training is a transformative tool adapted to current needs, breaking the barrier between theory and practice."

By placing the individual at the center of the learning process, these programs aim to ensure that family or economic backgrounds do not dictate a young person's future. The initiative strengthens social cohesion and provides a clear path toward professional autonomy in Barcelona.
