After the Christmas holidays, citizens in Catalonia are already planning their next break, which will be the four-day Easter Week long weekend, celebrated between April 3 and 6, 2026.

Easter Week 2026 will take place between Sunday, March 29, and Sunday, April 5. Catalans will enjoy four consecutive days off, from Good Friday (April 3) to Easter Monday (April 6). This year, the celebration arrives earlier than the previous one, offering a break in late March and early April.
Following Easter Week, the next key holiday will be Labor Day, May 1, which falls on a Friday, guaranteeing another three-day weekend. If the company closes during Easter Week, workers could enjoy more than a week of vacation.
In total, Catalonia will have 16 public holidays during 2026, including the previously observed January 1 and 6, approved by the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Central Government. Of the 16 total holidays, ten are state holidays, four are Catalan, and two are exclusively local.
In the city of Barcelona, the local holidays will be May 25 (Second Easter) and September 24 (La Mercè). Other important dates include June 24 (Sant Joan), September 11 (Diada de Catalunya), and December 26 (Sant Esteve).
