The number of transfers has seen a notable moderation compared to the previous year, when 1,224 operations were recorded. Despite this decline, sector activity remains dynamic thanks to the granting of 182 new opening licenses, one of the highest amounts in the last five years.
Analysis of municipal data shows that the Eixample district continues to have the most movement, with 236 transfers, followed by Sants-Montjuïc, Sant Martí, and Ciutat Vella. Regarding new licenses, the city council highlights that, despite usage plan restrictions in areas like Ciutat Vella or the Eixample, new establishments have opened in all districts of the city.
The profile of entrepreneurs seeking licensed premises is diverse, with a prominent presence of foreign investors. According to available data, four out of ten hospitality business owners in the Catalan capital are foreign nationals, seeking spaces for both neighborhood projects and investments in tourist areas.
