In celebration of Gaudí Year, El Tribut restaurant, situated in the Balcón Gastronómico of Barcelona's Port Olímpic, presents itself as a space to pay homage to the modernist genius through gastronomy. The establishment, which can accommodate 280 diners, features an interior design evoking works like La Pedrera and Park Güell, with organic shapes and curves creating a welcoming atmosphere overlooking the sea.
The restaurant's culinary offering focuses on dishes inspired by Gaudí and Mediterranean recipes with international influences. Examples include an ajoblanco with red prawn reminiscent of the architect's favorite snack, a vegan fricandó with Catalan 'picada', and a focaccia 'torrija' with crema catalana and mandarin sorbet.
Chef Albert Suárez, with international experience, leads the culinary team, which also prepares dishes fusing Mediterranean, Asian, and South American flavors. Creations include burrata with baked sweet potato, prawn tiradito, tuna tataki, and belly with carrot cream.
The wine list, curated by sommelier Dani Egea, features 75% Catalan productions, complemented by Spanish selections and some French and Portuguese wines. A toast with Cavas Hill's sparkling wine, Panot Gaudí, is particularly recommended.
