The Catalan Government, Adif, and Renfe met this Sunday at the Ministry of Territory in Barcelona to decide on the resumption of the Rodalies service, suspended since Saturday due to a lack of safety guarantees.

The meeting, taking place at the Ministry of Territory, aims to determine whether it is possible to resume the Rodalies and regional services, which were suspended across all of Catalonia since 1:00 PM on Saturday.
In a message on the social network 'X', the Government reported that alternative public transport has been reinforced with 170 interurban buses. Furthermore, the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) lines in the Vallès and Llobregat areas (Barcelona) remain operational and strengthened.
As an additional measure to ensure smooth road traffic flow, the Government also kept the toll barriers on the C-32 highway open, allowing users to pass free of charge.
The decision to suspend the Rodalies service was requested by the Government from the operators Renfe and Adif due to a lack of safety “guarantees.” This was communicated in a press conference by the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, and the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque.

The Government also requested that the service be free of charge until full normality is recovered.
