The leader of ERC, Oriol Junqueras, stated this Saturday in Barcelona that his party will only support the new budget if the Generalitat gains control over IRPF tax collection.

During the celebration of the party's 95th anniversary, Junqueras addressed the ongoing tensions with the PSC. He emphasized that ERC remains firm in its demands for a new financing model, describing it as a democratic right for the people of Catalonia.

"If prisons did not break us, no pressure will break us either."

The event also featured Elisenda Alamany, who defended the party's municipal strategy in Barcelona. Despite recent controversies regarding local commerce, Alamany highlighted ERC's anti-fascist history and focused on the upcoming 2027 local elections.
