The facility, providing access to platform 2 towards Barcelona, underwent comprehensive work including structural repairs, fixing leaks, and improving ventilation. The City Council contributed 44,928 euros to the investment, while FGC covered 109,868 euros.
During the inauguration event, FGC President Carles Ruiz stated that the company will assume future maintenance to ensure good service and expedite the resolution of any potential breakdowns. FGC also confirmed that the work involved replacing deteriorated components and installing new communication equipment for remote control.
The Mayor of Sant Cugat, Josep Maria Vallès, described the reactivation as "historic" and thanked users for their patience regarding the repair delay. The elevator, originally installed by FGC in 2017 at the council's request to improve accessibility and connect different neighborhood levels, had suffered several malfunctions since its initial operation.
The upgrade also includes connecting the Station Supervision Center (CSE) with La Floresta station, enabling faster response to any incidents. This update was announced by Esther García, Director of Rolling Stock and Railway Network at FGC.
