A forest fire declared in Rubió (Barcelona) has required the deployment of approximately 90 Firefighters, with 38 ground vehicles and ten aerial resources, to try to control the flames that are already affecting about 27 hectares.

The flames, detected at 4:27 PM near the hermitage of Can Massana, originated in the municipality of Castellfollit del Boix (Barcelona), in a depopulated and difficult-to-access area. The extinction operation has been reinforced throughout the afternoon, with the expected incorporation of a water bomber from the Ministry for Ecological Transition.
Firefighters have reported that the left flank is burning with the most intensity, but the priority is the right flank, considered higher risk due to wind direction. Therefore, efforts from the Forest Defense Groups (ADF) and the collaboration of local farmers with their tractors to create protection barriers are concentrated there.
This fire adds to a season marked by dry terrain and high temperatures, which has already tested extinction efforts in Catalonia. Recently, other simultaneous fires had to be tackled in Aiguamúrcia (Tarragona) and Lladurs (Lleida).
