The Barcelona City Council has sealed five establishments and detected 396 administrative and health violations during a major inspection near Park Güell this February.

As part of the Pla Endreça initiative, 27 businesses including souvenir shops and restaurants were inspected. Four venues were closed due to dangerous electrical installations, while another was shut down for public health risks involving pests.

"This action helps us bring order to a reality that we cannot afford anywhere, especially in neighborhoods under tourist pressure."

Laia Bonet · Deputy Mayor
Most violations involved operating without proper licenses, such as selling souvenirs illegally. Inspectors also found 151 urban landscape violations and 30 cases of labor regulation breaches.
