The Barcelona City Council has confirmed that the iconic Flors Carolina stall will maintain its historic location on La Rambla, near the Boqueria market, citing its exceptional heritage value.

As the comprehensive reform of La Rambla progresses toward its 2027 completion, most flower stalls will be moved and replaced with standardized units. However, the Pallés family business, established in 1888, has been granted an exception by Jaume Collboni's government to preserve its award-winning 1992 structure.

"We have been here since 1888. It makes us very happy to continue in this spot."

The stall, designed by architects Tonet Sunyer and Jordi Badia, received a FAD award for its innovative stainless steel design. Over the decades, the shop has served illustrious clients such as Salvador Dalí and Alexander Fleming, cementing its status as a cultural landmark in Barcelona.
