The venue located on Alegre de Dalt street, which has had various names over the years, including Canela and the historic KGB, has begun a new phase as Salma. The new managers, who present themselves as event organizers with marketing experience, have expressed their intention to transform the image of the place, which in recent years has been associated with coexistence problems and incidents.
“"We want neighbors to go from hating the nightclub to feeling it's part of the neighborhood."
This statement reflects the main objective of the new managers: to establish a harmonious relationship with the community. The Salma nightclub, a name meaning peace and tranquility, seeks to attract a more mature audience, over 25 years old, with the conviction that this will reduce conflicts. Furthermore, they emphasize the professionalism of their security staff, who avoid aggressive methods.
The Gràcia district has confirmed that it will officially inspect the current situation of the venue to verify that the ownership of the activity corresponds to the license, an issue that had already generated controversy in the past. The new managers have been negotiating with the license-holding company, Setraspa, and assure that it remains at the business forefront.
Among the new proposals are bachata sessions on Thursdays, with the participation of dance schools from Barcelona, and free dance classes for neighbors. If the initiative is successful, dance classes are planned from Monday to Thursday afternoons starting in September. On Fridays and Saturdays, the nightclub format will be maintained. The managers have also committed to reinforcing security during the three pending parties from the previous management, two in May and one in June, to ensure neighborhood tranquility.
“"We are fully open to maintaining dialogue with neighbors and having maximum peace in the neighborhood. At the slightest concern, we are here to solve problems."
