This event, characterized by a strong gust of air descending from storm clouds at high speed, generated winds of up to 50 Km/h. Unlike a tornado, an 'esclafit' is not rotating and impacts the ground, expanding like a destructive shockwave with considerable territorial reach.
The force of the wind caused trees and other objects to fall in various parts of the city, especially in the Santa Eulàlia area. Consequently, the Generalitat Firefighters and the Guardia Urbana (local police) had to intervene to manage the incidents.
