This transformation aims to consolidate a “multifunctional” space prepared for both large-scale events, such as the Primavera Sound festival, and smaller activities. The goal is for the platform to regularly host citizen, sports, or cultural events.
Among the new facilities, the plan includes hosting the new municipal football field Poblenou-Agapito Fernández. Furthermore, the project incorporates the creation of walking and resting areas, vegetation zones, and viewpoints, connecting rambla Prim, the maritime promenade, and the Besòs-Badalona corridor.
The urbanization of the platform projects the culmination of the Barcelona coastline, connecting Llevant beach and the Fòrum park.
The winning proposal for the urbanization project competition was submitted by the team formed by Esteyco and Estudi Martí Franch (EMF), titled Delta Prim.
The approximate timeline for developing the different areas of work is six years. The urbanization of the marine platform will begin once the ongoing works on the Mar Bella promenade are completed, scheduled for Spring 2027. The execution budget for the definitive project is 52 million euros.
