The event, now in its eleventh edition, will debut Gaudí: El vent de Barcelona, a visual novel title that transports players to pre-Olympic Barcelona. This thriller, originally developed by Wolf Team and restored by Shiyuden, will allow attendees to try a Catalan demo.
The event will expand its space to 8,000 square meters, 2,000 more than the previous edition, to host over 400 original gaming stations. Visitors can enjoy arcade machines, consoles, and computers from the eighties and nineties, which are the fair's main draw.
Among the prominent figures from the sector attending will be Michiru Yamane, composer for the Castlevania series, and Yoko Shimomura, composer of soundtracks for games like Street Fighter II and Kingdom Hearts. Other relevant guests are also expected.
The program will include tournaments for classic titles such as Mario Kart: Double Dash, Tekken 3, and Bomberman, along with more than twenty talks and roundtables with industry professionals. Another significant activity will be the third edition of Game Jump, where 44 Vocational Training students will develop a playable prototype in 48 hours, with expert mentorship.
After attracting 7,500 attendees in 2025, RetroBarcelona reinforces its commitment to becoming an intergenerational space, combining the preservation of classic video games with the promotion of innovation in the industry.
