Thousands of teachers started a general education strike this Friday in Barcelona, causing major traffic disruptions at city entrances while marching toward the Catalan Parliament.

The mobilization began early in the morning with significant impacts on Ronda de Dalt, Diagonal, and Nus de la Trinitat. Protesters organized four columns from Francesc Macià, Fabra i Puig, Rambla de Prim, and Ciutat de la Justícia.

"44 buses will arrive from across the country to join the people from Barcelona. It will be a historic strike."

Unions like USTEC demand that the Government led by Salvador Illa renegotiate the current agreement. Economy Minister Alícia Romero stated that while she empathizes with the demands, public resources are limited to the 510 million euros already pledged.
