Gerardo Pisarello to lead Barcelona en Comú in 2027 elections

The current MP wins the party primaries with 68% of the vote against Bob Pop.

MP Gerardo Pisarello and councillor Carol Recio have been confirmed as the Barcelona en Comú candidates for the 2027 municipal elections after a historic primary process.

Pisarello secured 68.6% of the votes, defeating the alternative candidacy of writer Bob Pop, who obtained 27%. The victory marks the beginning of the party's campaign to reclaim Barcelona City Hall.

The results will be made official on February 23. Barcelona en Comú is the second party to define its candidate for 2027, following ERC's confirmation of Elisenda Alamany.
