Catalonia continues to strengthen its position as a global innovation center, hosting 203 tech hubs from multinational companies that generated 4,109 million euros in 2025.

According to the Tech Hubs Overview 2026 report by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, the health and biotech sectors have become the primary drivers of high-quality employment. New additions to the ecosystem include Smith+Nephew and dsm-firmenich, focusing on advanced surgical training and bioscience. These hubs rely heavily on specialized roles such as software engineers and Artificial Intelligence experts to develop next-generation medical solutions in Barcelona.
