The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry have formalized an agreement to support their respective companies in accessing each other's markets. The agreement, led by President Salvador Illa, aims to promote bilateral trade and investments between Catalonia and Vietnam.
Josep Santacreu highlighted Vietnam's "legal certainty" and sustained growth as key factors for Catalan companies interested in Southeast Asia. The understanding includes information exchange, organization of trade missions, and business conferences.
Coincidentally, the presidents of the chambers of Barcelona and Vietnam also lead the business associations of the Mediterranean and Asia, respectively. They discussed the possibility of extending this pact to a regional level, a matter to be addressed later.
Furthermore, both chambers have expressed interest in establishing a direct air connection between Barcelona and Hanoi to facilitate business travel and tourism. The feasibility of this route will be studied with airlines from both countries.
