The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, expressed confidence this March that the ongoing negotiations with ERC will lead to the approval of the regional budget before the summer break.

In an interview with Diari de Catalunya, Illa emphasized his commitment to the agreements reached with the pro-independence party, including tax management reforms. He stated that his government is focused on stability and transformation, aiming to position Catalonia as a leader in Spain once again.

"I will fulfill my commitments; I expect ERC to keep their word."

Regarding housing, the President highlighted that rental prices are decreasing in Barcelona due to current regulations. He also confirmed the plan to recover 10,000 tourist apartments for residential use by 2028 and addressed the 'deplorable' state of the Rodalies train network, promising decisive action through new investments.
Addressing recent strikes, Illa noted that the proposed budget includes a 25% increase in education funding. He defended the current labor agreements as historic improvements for teachers, despite opposition from some unions like USTEC.
