The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the escape of three individuals in Badalona following a violent ramming of a patrol car with a stolen vehicle, an incident that forced officers to use their service weapons.

The events occurred on Friday night, around half-past eleven, at the Esclat service area in the Montigalà industrial estate, near the B-20. A police unit detected a BMW M235 vehicle registered as stolen, which was suspected of being used for stealing merchandise from trucks.
As officers approached to identify the occupants, three of the four people in the car fled on foot. The driver, however, decided to accelerate and deliberately ram the police vehicle to escape.
In response to the aggression, the Mossos fired their service weapons. Despite this, and after a brief struggle, the driver managed to flee the scene with the car.
Shortly after, in a joint operation with the Badalona Local Police, security forces located the stolen car and arrested one of the individuals involved. The investigation remains open to locate the three remaining suspects who fled on foot. Police sources have confirmed that, as of now, there are no reports of injuries from firearms.
