This Monday is set to be a heavy day in Barcelona, with little temperature variation but a notable increase in humidity. The thermal sensation will be particularly uncomfortable due to the high moisture levels.
Low clouds are expected, especially along the coastline, which may appear grey. High clouds are also forecast, more present in the morning, from the pre-coastal areas towards the interior. The atmosphere will be muggy, with the presence of suspended dust.
No precipitation is expected, although isolated drops are not ruled out in the southern part of the metropolitan area. The mugginess will be constant throughout the day and night, with a sticky atmosphere due to the high humidity levels.
The combination of temperature and humidity will cause the heat index to reach high values, around 40 or 42 at times, accentuating the uncomfortable heat sensation. The wind will blow from the sea towards land, with areas of mugginess.
The heat episode could peak in the city of Barcelona by Wednesday, July 15th, with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 34 or 35 ºC. In the pre-coastal areas, temperatures could climb to 37 or 38 ºC. The high relative humidity will continue to be the most notable factor, intensifying the feeling of discomfort.
