The Barcelona Civil Court has summoned the Minister of Interior, Núria Parlon, to appear on April 28 for a mandatory conciliation hearing regarding a slander lawsuit filed by activist Albert Forcades.

The legal action follows statements made by Parlon concerning an incident during a royal visit to Montserrat. Although a judge previously dismissed criminal charges against Forcades for an alleged assault on a Mossos d'Esquadra officer, the minister reportedly repeated the accusations in the Catalan Parliament.
The lawsuit, filed by lawyer Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas, demands a public and unequivocal retraction of the criminal allegations. The defense argues that there is no legal basis to continue publicly accusing Forcades after the case was officially closed due to a lack of evidence of intent.

"The demand requests a public retraction, declaring that Mr. Albert Forcades did not commit any crime of assault."

The hearing on April 28 is a required step under Spanish law before a formal criminal complaint for slander can proceed. The plaintiff seeks a commitment from Parlon to refrain from repeating these claims in any institutional or public setting.
