The meat processing firm, owned by the Zander Foods holding, owes approximately 40,000 euros in back pay to its workforce. Following strikes in February supported by the CCOO union, the company is now seeking a six-month temporary workforce reduction to address its financial instability and irregular salary payments.
This marks the second year that the company has failed to secure its own space at Alimentaria, Spain's leading food industry event. Beyond labor disputes, Farré—a former FC Barcelona presidential candidate—is facing a 1.6 million euro lawsuit from Casa Vallès over alleged unfair market strategies.
Negotiations are expected to conclude this week. If no agreement is reached, the ERTE will be implemented with minimum benefits, significantly impacting the income and holiday rights of the affected staff.
