The intensive workshop, part of the SynBIOsis initiative funded by Unite! Seed Fund, focused on porous biomaterials and their applications to solve environmental challenges such as plastic pollution, water purification, and circular packaging. The event brought together researchers and students from three European universities within the Unite! alliance.
The participating universities were the Polytechnic University of Catalonia · BarcelonaTech, Aalto University, and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The day included sessions on porous materials presented by Bruno Mattos (Aalto University), Antonio Capezza (KTH), and Cristina Valls (UPC).
Subsequently, mixed working groups were organized, tutored by Cristina Valls and Úrsula Fillat from UPC, to develop innovative proposals in the biomaterials sector.

In summary, the international experience has allowed for learning and growing together, both inside and outside the laboratory, consolidating teaching synergies among Unite! universities and driving training, research, and innovation in sustainable biomaterials.
