Lieutenant General Raimundo Rodríguez Roca appointed new Army Inspector General

The new commander takes over the Army's logistics and institutional representation from his headquarters in Barcelona.

Lieutenant General Raimundo Rodríguez Roca took office this Monday as the new head of the Army General Inspection (IGE) during a ceremony at the Palau de Capitania in Barcelona.

The Ministry of Defense has chosen Rodríguez Roca to lead the only Barcelona-based military power with nationwide authority. This command manages the logistics and daily operations of the Spanish Army, while also serving as the institutional face of the Armed Forces in Catalonia, Aragon, Navarre, and La Rioja.
With a PhD in Political Science and extensive experience in international missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan, the new Inspector General is recognized as a technical expert in security and logistics management. The event was attended by local authorities, including the Catalan Minister of Justice.
