The Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) held a political event in Barcelona this Saturday to conclude its current mandate, where president Lluís Llach delivered a harsh critique of pro-independence political parties.

Under the slogan Som independentisme. Som acció. Som Assemblea, the entity reviewed its work since 2024. The gathering marks the end of the current leadership term, with new internal elections scheduled for April 14-18.

"The practice of autonomism will never lead you to dominate the institutions of this country."

Lluís Llach specifically targeted Salvador Illa, the President of the Generalitat, accusing his administration of undermining Catalonia's national identity. Despite the criticism, Llach maintained that the independence movement remains strong, representing over 40% of the population.
The ANC also introduced new initiatives, including a campaign to protect Catalan language rights in healthcare and the official presentation of its youth wing, the Assemblea de Joves de Catalunya.
