The agreement for the Generalitat de Catalunya's budgets, sealed between the PSC, ERC, and Comuns, unlocks an estimated investment of 606.5 million euros in Barcelona over the coming years, according to Mayor Jaume Collboni.

This figure represents the total cost of projects included in the new accounts, which will be materialized progressively. Collboni emphasized that the agreement guarantees continued funding for initiatives such as the renovation of 4,000 homes in the Besòs i el Maresme neighborhood, where the Government will contribute 150 million out of the 415 million planned. This guarantee extends to residential centers, primary care centers, and schools.
The mayor indicated that, while not all works will begin this year, the committed investment ensures project continuity, even in the event of a budget extension. Investments are broken down into 70 million for health facilities, 30 million for new residences, 33 million for educational centers, and 52 million for school renovations. An additional 88 million is allocated for Incasòl blocks and 29.5 million for 1,500 social housing units, along with 85 million for the tram connection.
Among other multi-year initiatives, the construction and expansion of health centers in neighborhoods such as El Fort Pienc, La Barceloneta, El Gòtic, Congrés-Indians, and Parc de la Llacuna are planned. Furthermore, the expansion of the Hospital del Mar, the transformation of the Hospital Clínic, and the new consultation building at Vall d’Hebron will be addressed, as well as the construction of nursing homes, an area that had not seen investment for a decade.
Collboni highlighted that these budgets break a trend of disinvestment by the Generalitat in the city over the last 10 to 15 years, considering the agreement represents "putting Barcelonians back as full-fledged Catalans." He criticized the lack of previous investments in housing, social services, health, or public transport, and welcomed the fact that works agreed upon in bilateral commissions will now be financed.
The mayor positively assessed the agreement between Salvador Illa's Government, ERC, and Comuns, which formalizes "institutional normality" and promotes a "progressive" project that "prioritizes social investment." According to Collboni, this is the "most efficient way to politically combat the far-right," by providing "concrete responses" to the problems of the residents.
