The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Spanish National Police launched a large-scale operation this Monday in Barcelona and Girona to dismantle a criminal organization involved in international arms and drug smuggling.

Starting at 6:00 AM, more than 200 officers conducted simultaneous raids in several locations, including Sabadell, Lloret de Mar, and the Poble-sec neighborhood in Barcelona. The investigation also extends to the region of Andalusia.
According to investigators, the group specialized in importing firearms into Spain and exporting marijuana abroad. The network is reportedly linked to the Turkish mafia as part of an international criminal structure monitored by Europol.
Specialized units, including the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) and the Special Intervention Group (GEI), are taking part in the raids. While several arrests have already been confirmed, the operation remains ongoing under judicial secrecy.
