The Fundació Reeixida has reported that an official commemorative plaque dedicated to Vicenç Albert Ballester, which vanished in Barcelona in 2018, is currently being sold on Wallapop.

The plaque, honoring the creator of the Catalan 'estelada' flag, was originally inaugurated in 2013 near Passeig de Lluís Companys. It disappeared during the demolition of a nearby building eight years ago. Now, the item has surfaced on the digital marketplace with a price tag of 70 euros.

"It is shameful that an official plaque disappears and the authorities provide no answers until it is found by chance."

Oriol Falguera · President of Fundació Reeixida
Despite several formal requests to the Barcelona City Council and the Ciutat Vella district, the foundation claims they only received automated responses. The discovery was brought to light by activist Ferran Dalmau on social media, sparking criticism over the city's management of its urban heritage.
