The Mossos d'Esquadra have launched a massive security operation involving 2,000 officers for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, citing the need for heightened vigilance due to recent international military conflicts.

The security plan at the Fira de Barcelona venue has been updated following recent hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Authorities confirmed that the event is operating under Level 4 counter-terrorism alert, requiring a comprehensive strategy across land, air, and underground areas.
Specialized units, including Bomb Squads (TEDAX), K9 units, and Drones, are patrolling the site. Sònia Rius, the police chief in charge of the exterior perimeter, described this as the largest security deployment ever designed by the Catalan Police.

"We started working with one world six months ago, and today's world is a different one."

While the focus remains on high-level threats, plainclothes officers are also active to prevent pickpocketing. So far, the MWC is proceeding normally, with one arrest reported involving the theft of a high-value camera.
