The Barcelona City Police have reported muralist Roc Black Block for alleged criminal damage while he was painting a mural against mass tourism at Kasa de la Muntanya last Wednesday.

The Kasa de la Muntanya collective described the police intervention as disproportionate. The artist had been working on the piece for three days with neighborhood support before ten officers arrived to identify him. While Roc Black Block admits he did not have a permit, he argues that the case should be an administrative fine rather than a criminal offense.

"They went for the harshest possible charge, considering the scale of the work as property damage rather than a simple fine."

The artist also reported a violation of his linguistic rights, claiming an officer refused to speak Catalan during the identification process. He is currently consulting with Plataforma per la Llengua to file a formal complaint regarding the incident.
