The National Police have dismantled a criminal organization that facilitated the transport of irregular migrants from Alicante to France, using the La Jonquera-Le Perthus border as their main route.

According to police sources, the network allegedly carried out over 20 cross-border transports, generating profits of approximately 100,000 euros. They are estimated to have charged around 200 euros per person transported, carrying between five and six individuals on each journey.
The investigation began after French authorities detected numerous border crossings by a vehicle linked to the main suspect. Subsequent inquiries identified other vehicles used by the organization and confirmed repeated movements consistent with the irregular trafficking of people.
Between May and June 2026, the main ringleader allegedly made at least seven trips with a vehicle following the same route, originating in Alicante and destined for France via the La Jonquera-Le Perthus border crossing. Information exchange between Spanish and French authorities was crucial in determining the scale of the operation.
The main suspect was arrested on French territory while transporting several individuals in an irregular situation. Following this arrest, French authorities issued a European Investigation Order to search his home in Alicante and obtain relevant financial information.
During the search of the suspect's residence in Alicante, National Police officers seized 3,190 euros in cash, personal and vehicle documentation, cards offering taxi services with the phone number used by the suspect, and the keys to another vehicle owned by him.
Three individuals have been arrested as part of this operation, with two of them being placed in provisional prison, as reported by the police force.
