The new UTE has won the bid to organize and produce this iconic event, aiming to boost its standing as a benchmark for popular running. The alliance combines Relay Events' experience in large sports events, such as the El Corte Inglés Race, with the communication and sports community management capabilities of Sport Life Ibérica, a leader in lifestyle information in Spain.
Prensa Ibérica, a leader in regional and local news, will contribute its extensive dissemination capacity through publications like SPORT and EL PERIÓDICO, reaching over 20 million unique monthly users. This synergy aims to maximize the race's reach via its social media and print press.
The first edition under this new structure is scheduled for Sunday, November 8. The race will reclaim its iconic route through the heart of Barcelona, traversing avenues such as Paral·lel, Gran Via, ronda de Sant Pere, and Via Laietana, with the start and finish near the Ciutadella Park. The creative concept 'The heart that never stops' will guide a comprehensive runner experience, including official training sessions, digital campaigns, and a 'Recovery Lab' at the finish line. Notably, the official siren of the Barcelona Fire Department will mark the race's commencement.
The project also emphasizes sustainability, promoting eco-friendly mobility, the use of electric and hybrid vehicles, careful waste management, and encouraging public transport. The goal is for this new era to live up to the legacy of the Firefighters' Race, establishing it as a leading event for popular running in the coming years.
