The exams, originally scheduled for last Friday, were postponed to this week due to a teachers' strike. This 2026 academic year introduces a new model where only a representative sample of schools, chosen randomly, participates in the official final-stage evaluation.
The Department of Education explained that this change aligns with international standards and the LOMLOE law. Consequently, the Ministry of Education will now oversee the 6th-grade primary evaluations scheduled for April and May.
The assessment covers five key areas: Catalan, Spanish, English, Mathematics, and Science and Technology. While only 69 centers are part of the official sample, other schools maintain the option to conduct the tests internally for their own academic monitoring.
