The city of Barcelona has launched a new photovoltaic pergola at the Parc de les Tretze Roses, in the Marina del Prat Vermell neighborhood, which will generate 31,600 kWh annually.

The new infrastructure, located at the intersection of Cal Cisó and Conesa streets, represents a further step in the sustainable transformation of this new neighborhood and aligns with municipal criteria promoting renewable energy in urban development projects.
The construction of the pergola, covering approximately 190 square meters, involved an investment of 408,521 euros and was carried out by the Municipal Urban Planning Institute (IMU). The installation features 80 photovoltaic modules with a power capacity of 31.6 kWp.
The generated energy, estimated at 31,600 kWh annually, is sufficient to cover the consumption of about 14 households and will prevent the emission of approximately 11.4 tons of CO₂ each year. This energy is shared through self-consumption via the grid at nearby municipal facilities such as the Centre de Barri El Polvorí, the Casal de Gent Gran El Polvorí, and the Casal de Barri La Vinya.
In addition to its energy function, the structure provides a new space for shade and rest for pedestrians, optimizing solar radiation capture in an area with limited trees and reinforcing the city's climate strategy of incorporating fixed, energy-generating shading.
This pergola is part of the urban transformation process in Marina del Prat Vermell, where the Parc de les Tretze Roses has incorporated nearly 4,370 m² of new green space within an urbanized area of almost 21,000 m².
