The Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition has launched today a new configuration of bus stops on Barcelona's Meridiana avenue, aiming to improve interchanges and facilitate user travel.

The new stop arrangement comes into effect today, Monday, November 2nd, and is part of the final stages of the Meridiana avenue transformation works. Two new strategic interchange areas have been created: Sagrera-Meridiana and Clot. These zones will strengthen the connection of interurban buses with the metro and Rodalies networks, improving the integration of different public transport modes.
The reorganization has been designed considering the capacity of each stop point and the operational needs of the service. The Sagrera area, which handles approximately 650 departures on weekdays, is particularly relevant. The new interchange areas include specific maps with information on stops, lines, and available connections with metro, Rodalies, and other services.
In the new Sagrera-Meridiana interchange area, interurban lines are concentrated at four distinct departure stops, facilitating connections with the nearby metro and Rodalies stations. This area serves lines heading to Maresme, Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental, Osona, and other metropolitan municipalities, as well as night services. For inbound journeys to Barcelona, two specific drop-off stops have been established.
The stops are equipped with shelters and dynamic information panels. The main boarding points feature a double stop to streamline passenger boarding and reduce waiting times. A double bus lane has also been created between Felip II and Garcilaso streets.
In the Clot area, the new interchange organizes and concentrates lines connecting Barcelona with municipalities such as Mollet del Vallès, Caldes de Montbui, Sant Feliu de Codines, or Santa Maria d'Oló. Regarding night services, lines N62, N64, and N65 maintain their current stop at the intersection of Consell de Cent street and Meridiana avenue.
