The works, which began in March with a budget of €669,717.80 (before VAT), have improved the structural stability of the building, restored the glass perimeter canopy, repaired the facade and roof leaks, and renewed the glass enclosure and the entire roof envelope. The canopy, removed in 1960, has been restored to its original appearance with new glazing and modern fixing elements.
The building, inaugurated in 1931 and located in Plaça Molina, has an exterior area of 58m², with 5m² dedicated to elevator access. It features ten mixed concrete pillars with steel cores, a zinc roof, and four facades with glass enclosures in stainless steel frames.
This intervention is part of FGC's ongoing process of renovation and maintenance of its facilities to ensure a quality service, guaranteeing the robustness and punctuality of the service.
The FGC Sant Gervasi station is part of the Barcelona-Vallès line (S1, S2, L6) and recorded 1.47 million journeys in 2025, a 4.5% increase from the previous year. Its access is located next to the entrance of the FGC Plaça Molina station (L7).
The Sant Gervasi station, originally inaugurated in 1863, saw the current building volume constructed in 1929 to cover the access staircase after the tracks were buried. This unique structure, a rectangular masonry prism defined by pillars and pilasters supporting a zinc-covered metal roof, gives character to Plaça Molina and allows natural light to reach the lower level.
It underwent a comprehensive renovation in 1985 and was later integrated into the square's redevelopment. In 2009, an interchange was created to connect the Barcelona-Tibidabo line with the Vallès branches, improving accessibility while preserving the station's historic character.
