The Palau Robert in Barcelona opened the exhibition Avui 50+. Des de 1976, notícies llengua i país this Monday, marking half a century since the founding of the first Catalan daily after the dictatorship.

Curated by Hermes Comunicació and the General Directorate of Diffusion, the show will be open in Room 3 until May 24. Authors Toni Brosa, Carles Sabaté, and Jordi Panyella have designed a journey comparing the media landscape of 1976 with today's complex society.
The collection includes historical documents, such as reports from Manuel Fraga's Ministry of Information denying publication permits. It also features a recreation of a 1970s newsroom and highlights the popular support of 34,000 citizens and figures like Joan Manuel Serrat who funded the project.
The exhibition also showcases the newspaper's art collection, featuring original works by Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, and Salvador Dalí. These pieces, on loan from the Girona Art Museum, complement a section dedicated to the linguistic challenges faced in Catalonia over the last 50 years.
