Police arrest 87 in Barcelona during major operation against repeat offenders

The Kanpai plan led by Mossos d'Esquadra targeted crime hotspots and nightlife venues across the metropolitan area.

The Mossos d'Esquadra police force arrested 87 people in Barcelona and its metropolitan area during the early hours of Saturday, March 21, as part of the Kanpai plan against repeat offenders.

The police action focused on curbing the activity of habitual criminals who, among all those arrested, accumulated a total of 293 criminal records. In addition to the arrests, officers placed 29 people under investigation and issued 232 administrative fines.
Within the city of Barcelona, 42 people were detained. According to police data, 30 of these arrests were related to immigration laws, while the others involved robberies, gender violence, theft, and resisting authority. Over 1,000 individuals were identified during the raids.
The operation also included inspections of 16 businesses and nightlife venues. Notable interventions took place at Icon Club in Sant Andreu and Draco Premium Club in the Gràcia district, alongside hair salons and gambling halls.
